Biontology® is a comprehensive wellness modality developed by Dr. Boswinkel, working with the body’s own ultra-weak biophoton emissions to support natural self-regulation. It relies solely on the body’s own light emissions and does not use artificial light sources.

FOR CLIENTS
ABOUT BIONTOLOGY® SESSIONS
This section helps you understand what
happens during sessions, how assessment
works, and what to expect from your practitioner
During a session, the practitioner uses the biophoton instrument to optimise your light—your own, innate biophoton signalling across di8erent organ systems.
The Biontology® practitioner decides where to focus, but it is always your body that determines how it responds. The light used in Biontology® comes from your body itself and remains part of its natural signalling.
The idea of applying biophotons goes back to the 1980s. Inspired by scientific research available at the time, Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel adopted the view that the body’s biophotons may function as an instruction system for intercellular communication and regulation. He designed his instruments and approach around this insight, and decades of application by practitioners have since confirmed its relevance in practice.
Although your body’s light emissions are ultra-weak, they guide vital intercellular communication. Disruptions on this subtle level can strongly affect how the body functions. Correcting chaotic biophoton signalling allows your body to use its natural abilities more effectively.
No. Nothing is “finished” during the session itself. The correction in light opens an opportunity for your body to initiate repair — but the real repair is carried out by your body, supported by rest, proper hydration, and reduced stress afterwards.
While you may experience immediate changes in how you feel, the session itself is only the starting point. Deeper effects develop afterwards, as your body makes use of improved light signalling. In the days following, your system may respond with an improved ability to address challenges and restore balance.
The days after a session are when your body integrates the improvements supported during the session. Rest, hydration, healthy rhythms, and reducing unnecessary stressors give your system more opportunity to respond to the improved signalling, while overexertion or unhealthy choices can limit that response.
Many clients notice a sense of wellbeing or lightness right after a session. This is real, but it does not mean that all underlying issues are gone. The effect of a session is temporary at the level of light — it creates a “window of opportunity” for your body to act on improved intercellular communication.
If an issue is long-standing or linked to chronic stressors, it often takes more than one window for the body to work through it. With time and repeated support, these opportunities can help your body gradually resolve deeper problems.
Every person responds differently. Some feel lighter, relaxed or more energised straight away, while others may experience a short period of tiredness or heightened emotions as the body adjusts. Occasionally, old sensations can resurface briefly.
These responses may show that your body is making use of the improved light signalling to repair and strengthen itself. Since this process is a natural function, the connected responses are only temporary and pass as it completes.
Yes. The most helpful thing you can do is simple: give your body space.
Rest, healthy rhythms, proper hydration, and avoiding unnecessary stressors all help your system make best use of the improved light communication.
Real support lies in allowing your body to work with what has been given — without distraction, added interventions, or extra demands
Everyone responds differently. Sometimes effects are noticeable right away, sometimes more gradually. For many, three sessions provide a good basis to observe changes. But lasting results always depend on your own body’s processes — and on how well you support them in daily life.
No. Some people notice clear effects right away, while others only become aware of changes in the days after, or even after several sessions. The absence of a strong sensation does not mean the session was less effective — it may simply mean your body is responding in its own way and timing, integrating the changes more quietly.
If you do not notice changes after three or four sessions, Biontology® may not be the right approach for you — results should always show in your own experience.
That said, outcomes can also depend on the practitioner’s ability to work with more complex situations. If you feel you may not have received the support you needed, it can be worthwhile to try one more time with a certified practitioner, who has been observed in practice and confirmed in their skill. To be certain of a practitioner’s certification status, you can always contact us directly.
No. Biontology® is not about creating dependency. The purpose is always to strengthen your body’s own capacities, not to replace them.
As a starting point, regular sessions are important, especially when there are longstanding or chronic imbalances. This gives your body repeated opportunities to make use of improved light signalling. Over time, once your system has stabilised, sessions can become less frequent or occasional, depending on your needs.
No. Biontology® does not depend on belief or suggestion. It works with your body’s own biophoton emissions, which are present whether or not you believe in them. What matters is how your body responds afterwards, not what you think or expect during the session.
Not if you want to experience full benefits. Biontology® is a complete, stand-alone system. Its effectiveness depends on the improved coherence it creates in your body’s own light signalling.
Adding other approaches during a session or in the three days after will inevitably disturb this delicate balance, shorten the time your body can use the optimised signalling, or even erase the benefits.
Even beyond this three-day window, rest and integration remain part of the process. Filling this time with other interventions may exhaust the body instead of supporting it. For the best outcome, Biontology® should be experienced on its own.
A session often shifts the body into a more relaxed state — a natural invitation to rest. Sleep and relaxation are signs of the body entering its restorative mode, and the best results come from allowing this process rather than resisting it.
Some people misinterpret post-session tiredness or deep relaxation as undesirable and try to override it with activity, but this reduces the benefit. Even if you feel energised, it is best to dedicate that energy to healing by keeping space for rest and recovery, instead of filling it with new demands.
The first three days after a session, your body may increase the excretion of waste products through the urine. This requires more fluid than usual. If you do not drink extra water and stick only to your normal intake, your system may lack what it needs for this process, leading to dehydration symptoms such as headaches or lightheadedness.
By drinking extra water, you give your body the support it needs to carry out this cleansing smoothly and to benefit fully from the session.
Biontology® assessment is a way to communicate with the body. It shows where light signalling is disrupted and how a session can best support it. Its sole purpose is to guide the session, not to provide a health screening or diagnosis.
The assessment outcome reflects whether biophoton emissions at specific points are sufficiently coherent or not. This guides the practitioner in deciding where and how to focus the session. It does not, by itself, indicate the presence or absence of disease.
Within the Biontology® framework, the findings at different points on hands and feet are interpreted in relation to specific parts and functions of the body. This allows the practitioner to address areas where light communication can be supported most effectively.
Reassessment is done because an immediate shift is expected — since the session directly improves biophoton signalling, the reassessment shows whether that change actually took place. This step cannot be skipped — only by verifying the shift can your practitioner confirm that the program worked in correcting the light signalling.
Improved biophoton coherence is the basis for the desired results, but it is not guaranteed every time. Certain circumstances may limit the effectiveness of the correction, and reassessment is the only way to identify this.
No. Biontology® assessment cannot provide a medical diagnosis. It reflects patterns in light communication only. These patterns may look similar in people with very different conditions, so they cannot be interpreted as medical findings. Their value lies only in guiding the practitioner’s focus during sessions.
No. Biontology® assessment only reflects imbalances in the body’s biophoton signalling function, which has no role in medical diagnosis.
This information is specific to Biontology® sessions. The outcome changes immediately once a session is applied, as the session works by influencing light coherence — something directly visible in the post-session assessment.
No. An assessment only reflects what is happening in that moment. Biophoton coherence naturally fluctuates as the body responds to daily stressors, so some imbalances will always show — even when you are healthy.
True health problems arise only when chaotic signalling becomes chronic and the body no longer succeeds in correcting it — either because its own capacity is limited, or because persistent stressors prevent recovery.
No. Health does not appear as a blank or flawless result. Every body shows shifting imbalances, because light signalling is always adapting to what life brings. An assessment simply shows “yes” or “no” to imbalance at that moment — it cannot reveal whether the issue is temporary or long-standing, nor can it diagnose health or disease.
A healthy result still includes imbalances. The difference is that in a well-functioning body they are changeable, short-lived, and part of normal adaptation, not fixed patterns.
Assessment provides the practitioner with information to optimise the body’s light communication during the current session. Even if you are already well, this support can feel like a tailwind while cycling: you would reach your destination anyway, but the journey becomes lighter and easier.
This can mean two things, depending on your situation. Sometimes the improved coherence was disrupted again before the body could fully make use of it. Other times, especially in chronic situations, it is simply part of the normal repair process.
A session improves signalling and opens a window for repair. When a long-standing imbalance is involved, the body may disturb the light again as it continues its work. The same disturbance can therefore reappear — not because nothing changed, but because the repair is not yet complete and often requires several opportunities.
Feeling better means your body has already made use of the improved light situation to move repairs forward, even if the assessment still shows work in progress. Signalling shifts immediately in a session, but if the underlying issue is only partly resolved in the following days, the disturbance will return until the body completes more of the repair. The assessment reflects this ongoing process: change is happening, just not all at once.
Your guide is how you feel and function in daily life — your energy, sleep, resilience, and comfort. Assessments are there to help the practitioner decide where to work each time; your lived experience is the clearest indicator of progress.
The practitioner’s role is to help your body make optimal use of its own light emissions. By improving the coherence of biophoton signals, they support natural processes to unfold with greater efficiency and focus. The body leads the process — the practitioner simply provides the conditions that allow it to happen.
No. Biontology® works only with the body’s own light. By correcting disturbances in biophoton signalling, the practitioner helps your system’s instructions become stronger and more coherent — but this is not the same as healing.
Any repair or recovery that may follow comes solely from your body’s self-healing capacities — a process best supported by rest, hydration, healthy rhythms, and reduced stress. This makes Biontology® a shared responsibility: the practitioner works on the light, while your everyday choices help your body act on it optimally.
It is common to experience a sense of wellbeing, lightness, or relief in stark contrast to how you felt before the session.
The shift can feel profound — sometimes even magical — and may carry a strong emotional impact. This effect, however, comes from your own body, not from a special power of the practitioner. What you are feeling is your body and mind responding to the optimisation of its natural light signalling.
Biontology®, as developed by Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel, was created to free people from dependencies, not create new ones.
Yes. If you are inspired to study Biontology® after your own experience, you can apply to enter the professional field. Admission is selective and limited each year to maintain quality and ensure proper guidance for every student.
You can read more about the process — including entry requirements, waiting lists, and training — in the section “Entering the Field”.
Assessment in Biontology® is a refined skill that requires accuracy and sensitivity. A skilled practitioner can interpret the body’s feedback correctly, focus the session where it is most needed, and evaluate whether the light responded as intended.
Without these abilities, there is a risk of relying on personal assumptions rather than the body’s real signals. Quality ensures that sessions are guided by your body itself, making the work reliable, responsible, and truly supportive.
The True respect belongs to the remarkable capacities of your own body and mind.
No. Practitioners cannot declare you healthy. Biontology® assessment is a moment-intime tool that only checks for disturbances in light signalling during your appointment. Even when nothing is detected, this does not necessarily mean you are healthy. Stress, temporary strain, or the short-term effect of your previous session can mask deeper disturbances and make results appear more balanced than they truly are. What matters most is your own experience—whether symptoms resolve and daily functioning improves—and any medical confirmation belongs to medical diagnostics. Skilled practitioners consider symptoms alongside patterns over several sessions, not a single reading.
No. Practitioners cannot diagnose illness with their biophoton instrument.
Biophoton emissions are never in a perfect, coherent, or static state, so every person — even in good health — will show some degree of imbalance. Biontology® assessment does not reveal cause or severity and cannot distinguish normal variation from illness. Temporary day-to-day challenges may create results that look identical to those of a more serious condition.
For this reason, assessment results can never confirm the presence or absence of disease. They serve only to guide the practitioner in identifying where light communication can be supported. Any practitioner who interprets them as diagnostic findings is misunderstanding the method.
No. Genuine Biontology® sessions stand entirely on their own and do not require any additional devices, products or supplements.
Practitioners who follow the original method focus solely on improving light communication through their original biophoton instrument.
If someone promotes or sells extra products as part of Biontology®, they are mixing other approaches — something that is not part of the official modality.
In 2012, it became clear that some practitioners were misunderstanding or neglecting key aspects of the original work — especially the assessment, which requires refined skills to be consistent and reliable. In some cases, the assessment procedure was skipped altogether; in others, outcomes were misrepresented as confirming health or disease, which is not possible.
Certification was therefore introduced as a way for practitioners to demonstrate that they apply Biontology® accurately and responsibly. It allows those who meet the required standards to receive official recognition and, if desired, contribute further to the field — for example, by giving demonstrations or supporting future training.
Certification is optional. Many practitioners find they can build a successful practice with a license alone and choose not to take the extra step of seeking official endorsement.
While this makes it harder for us to provide referrals or to recognise where additional support might be valuable, we respect that choice. Each practitioner remains responsible for their own practice. For clients, this means that any concerns about sessions with a non-certified practitioner reflect on the individual, not on Biontology® itself.
To ensure quality and protect clients, referrals are only made to practitioners whose skills and understanding have been directly observed and confirmed through case studies.
This gives you the reassurance that anyone we refer to applies Biontology® exactly as intended — in line with the original framework and with the necessary level of skill and care.
While many licensed practitioners work well, certification simply provides the verified proof we need before we can publicly recommend someone as a representative for the modality.
Training today is stronger and more comprehensive than it was before licensing was introduced, but the principle is unchanged: practitioners can only be listed once their work has been personally observed.
This is not a matter of mistrust — public referral simply requires confirmation, not assumption. Listing practitioners means standing behind their work as representatives of Biontology®, which can only be done once their practice has been personally verified.
Only a few certified practitioners are not listed, and those individuals serve the Biontology® field through official training or demonstrations rather than client practice.
If a practitioner does not appear on the o8icial Biontology® website, they are not certified — even if they claim to be. Unfortunately, some have misrepresented their status, which is exactly why the official list exists: to provide clients with a clear and reliable point of reference.
At the same time, most practitioners simply choose not to pursue certification, as it is not required for maintaining a successful practice. Those who deliver genuine results build their reputation naturally through client experience and word-of-mouth — they have no reason to claim credentials they do not hold.
No. Many practitioners are licensed but not certified. This does not mean their practice is poor — it simply means we have no way of verifying how they apply Biontology®.
However, choosing a certified practitioner gives you greater assurance as a client. Certified practitioners have demonstrated both practical skill and a coherent understanding of the original framework, ensuring that sessions, explanations, and guidance are fully aligned with Biontology® as it was developed.
Many practitioners attended demonstrations or short courses with Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel, but no one received private mentorships or full, coherent training from him. His complete teaching was only captured and structured later, with the development of the current comprehensive training.
For this reason, claims of “personal training” or “exclusive transmission” are misleading. What truly matters is a practitioner’s present understanding and consistency in applying the original method — not their claimed closeness to the inventor in the past.
A good Biontology® professional keeps the focus on you and your body’s process — not on their résumé, claims of special insight, or past associations to Dr. Boswinkel. They communicate clearly, answer questions honestly, and respect your feedback.
A good practitioner applies Biontology® exactly as developed by Dr. J.C. Boswinkel — with precision, clarity, and respect for the method. Signs of correct practice include:
- Use of a single biophoton instrument (their Chiren® 3.0 or an older model).
- Assessment of points on both hands and feet before and after each applied program using the instrument’s accessories.
- Presence throughout the session, with active listening and adjustment based on your responses.
- One hand program (± 10 min) and one footplate program (± 16 min) each appointment; a shorter protocol only for young children.
- Attention to scars or localised issues when relevant — applying local programs where needed.
- Clear explanations — never vague, mystical, or speculative claims.
- No sale or promotion of additional treatments or products as part of Biontology®.
- No claims of being a “specialist” in specific diseases — Biontology® is a holistic approach that does not have special protocols targeted at disease.
- Professional and respectful conduct toward clients and colleagues, keeping the focus on your process rather than their status.
A true professional helps you understand your sessions and respects your experience as the most important feedback in the process.
Licensed practitioners are required to present Biontology® accurately and uphold the professional standards set by Dr. Boswinkel’s legacy foundation, Stichting MIBA. If you believe a practitioner is misrepresenting the modality or acting outside these standards, you can contact Health Angel Services.
We take such concerns seriously and may reach out to the practitioner to clarify or address the issue. While we cannot intervene with unlicensed individuals, your feedback helps protect the integrity of the modality and may ensure that future clients receive accurate information and professional care.
A Biontology® practitioner may note relevant details from your first interview and later conversations about your responses and progress. Most importantly, they record their assessment findings — how effectively biophoton signalling functions at specific points on the hands and feet that correspond to different areas of the body — along with the session programs that were used.
Practitioners keep records to spot patterns over time. By comparing assessment outcomes with your responses, they can see which biophysical functions are strengthening, which areas may need more attention, and whether recurring stressors are involved. These records exist solely to guide Biontology® sessions and are never used for diagnosis.
Yes. When practitioners use the official app, session data is stored securely in line with GDPR standards.
However, each practitioner is the data controller for their own client records and is personally responsible for full GDPR compliance, including access control, deletion requests, and lawful data handling.
The app simply provides a secure tool — it does not assume legal responsibility on behalf of the practitioner.
Yes. You may request deletion of your session data at any time. Your practitioner must ensure this is processed in accordance with GDPR.
Records are designed as practitioner tools, not client reports. Their terminology (for example, names of impulses or body points) can easily be misinterpreted outside the context of Biontology®.
If you wish, you can request a copy in line with GDPR, but it is important to understand that these notes have relevance only for guiding sessions — not for evaluating health or disease.
FOR PRACTITIONERS
ABOUT PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT
This section helps you understand the existing
support structure for the Biontology® practitioner,
including access to official support, service and
repair policies, and professional responsibilities
Registration brings each instrument into the professional framework of Biontology®. It ensures traceability, fair access to service, and supports the collective system that keeps repairs, spare parts, and professional guidance available.
Yes. All biophoton instruments require registration with Health Angel Services to be recognised and eligible for repairs or spare parts.
New Chirens®3.0 are registered automatically; older or second-hand biophoton instruments must be registered by the owner before any services can be provided.
If you are the first owner of a biophoton instrument purchased through one of Dr. Boswinkel’s companies before 2016, yearly contribution is optional.
However, by choosing to contribute, you can become part of the official professional organisation for Biontology® practitioners with access to the full range of services and benefits.
If you register only and do not contribute, you remain under a limited grace arrangement: your original instrument can still be repaired and spare parts supplied, but other services are not available.
From 2016 onward, all instruments have been sold under License Agreements that include yearly professional participation. This contribution to Health Angel Services must be paid every year.
If payments are missed, they accumulate as outstanding fees, and a surcharge applies when settled. Until contributions are fully up to date, support and spare parts cannot be provided.
All second-hand (pre-2016) biophoton instruments must be registered with Health Angel Services before support can be provided. Owners are required to contribute yearly, the same as all other practitioners.
In addition, you may be asked to participate in a guided viewing of Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel’s 2015 recorded final training. This ensures that anyone entering the field through a second-hand instrument develops a consistent understanding of the origins and basics of Biontology®.
If a Chiren® 3.0 was sold or offered to you without the official transfer and registration under your name, the seller is in breach of their License Agreement. Until the matter is remedied, the instrument cannot be supported, supplied with parts, or recognised within the Biontology® framework.
To resolve this, you must complete the full entry pathway: orientation, signing the License Agreement, training, and yearly participation linked to the device. If unpaid fees are attached to the instrument, we recommend contacting the seller first; otherwise, you will be responsible for settling them before registration and support can begin.
No. Products and services are supplied only to registered owners for their own biophoton instruments.
This ensures fairness and transparent service records for each device. It also prevents the use of self-appointed intermediaries who inflate prices or cause delays, so every practitioner has direct and equal access to parts, repairs, and support at fair prices.
No. Health Angel Services is not set up to provide guidance on the practice of the modality itself. Its role is to coordinate registration, service, repairs, spare parts, and professional participation, while also representing the interests of Biontology® practitioners.
If you have questions about skill development, session practice, or anything else relating to the application of the method, our service desk can help arrange the right support — for example, by booking training with the official training institute or connecting you with a licensed coach. Health Angel Services itself, however, will not answer such practice-related questions directly.
The Chiren®3.0, equipped with modern components and a built-in Li-Ion smart battery, is much more robust than the older models. It is designed for stability, reliability, and long-term usability, addressing the vulnerabilities of the older generation.
Routine servicing is not needed, but correct handling will extend its life. To keep the battery healthy, avoid full discharges, recharge regularly even if not in daily use, and do not leave it plugged in constantly for longer periods without cycling the charge. Store at moderate room temperature.
Routine servicing is not needed, but careful handling is essential.
Developed in 2005, these models are now 20 years old and more vulnerable than the current generation. They are especially sensitive to unstable electricity.
Always use the original adapter, and if you live in an area with irregular power supply, use a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). Most irreparable failures have been caused by non-original adapters or power fluctuations.
We continue to support all of Dr. Boswinkel’s biophoton instruments wherever possible. However, the 1.0/2.0 models were built on 2005-era hardware, and some of their computer components are now obsolete.
If one of these parts fails — such as the CPU, the backlight inverter for the display, or the filter board — repair may no longer be possible, and the instrument could be considered a total loss.
In such cases, the only option is to transition to the current Chiren®3.0.
Most 1.0/2.0 instruments (2005 design) that eventually fail have been true workhorses, supporting full practices for many years. When a component that is no longer produced reaches the end of its lifespan, repair is no longer possible, and replacement becomes essential —your instrument is the core tool of your profession.
The Chiren® 3.0 was created with this reality in mind. It not only secures continuity for established practices but also resolves the weaknesses of earlier designs. With modern computer components and a smart battery for portability, it is leaner, faster, and more versatile — preserving the essence of Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel’s work while giving practitioners a tool that is reliable, efficient, and easier to use.
Whether you choose to upgrade before issues arise or wait until your older instrument reaches the end of its lifespan, the Chiren®3.0 offers a future-proof way forward. Find out more.
Make sure your instrument is registered with Health Angel Services. Only registered instruments are eligible for service.
• If it is already registered, you can submit a repair request, and we will guide you step by step.
• If it is not registered, see the next question.
Use the online registration form to send us your full contact details together with the device model and serial number.
• For Chiren®3.0 and all instruments sold after 2016, registration includes automatic enrolment into the professional field (yearly fee applies).
• For first owners of instruments purchased before 2016, enrolment is optional. You may choose to participate in the professional field or opt out and receive limited support (repairs and parts only).
All repairs must always be coordinated through Health Angel Services and carried out by the original manufacturer. Opening an instrument or attempting repairs yourself would make it unserviceable. Any broken seal immediately voids support.
No. The German engineering company that carries out repairs is a contract manufacturer. They produce exclusively for our field but are not set up or responsible for handling end-user requests. All is managed through Health Angel Services to ensure repairs are processed correctly. Sending instruments directly may seem faster, but it only leads to delays and complications.
Normally no. Repairs are usually completed quickly once your instrument reaches the original manufacturer in Germany, so arranging and shipping a loaner would take about the same time as waiting for your own instrument to be returned. In rare cases, exceptions may be accommodated.
Yes. You will be kept informed at each step of the process:
1. The manufacturer inspects your instrument based on the issue you reported.
2. If a problem is found, you receive a repair proposal outlining the options and costs.
3. Once you approve, the repair is carried out.
4. Payment (including service fees) is processed through Health Angel Services. After payment is received, your instrument is shipped back to you with a track-and-trace number.
Repairs depend on diagnosis, parts availability, and logistics.
Once your instrument reaches the manufacturer, repair work is normally completed within a few days to a week. The total turnaround time can be longer depending on shipping, customs, and whether documentation is completed correctly.
A 2-year warranty applies to biophoton instruments purchased new and covers manufacturing defects. It does not include damage from handling, wear and tear, or consumable parts like batteries.
The warranty itself falls under the responsibility of BoChi Instruments GmbH, but all requests are handled and coordinated through Health Angel Services as your direct contact point.
For all other situations, repairs can still be arranged through Health Angel Services, and we will clarify the applicable conditions and costs with you during your request.
Original spare parts are provided only through Health Angel Services.
• Contributing practitioners (those who pay yearly participation) can order parts directly through the Health Angel Services webshop.
• Non-participants who are first owners of pre-2016 registered instruments may still order parts, but only by contacting us by email.
Biontology® is a highly specialised field with a relatively small number of instruments in use. This means custom parts are produced only in small batches, which increases their cost per piece.
Yearly professional contributions help make it possible to place the minimum orders required to keep parts available, but prices will always be higher than for mass-produced components.
No. All parts are produced to specific standards defined by Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel. Replicas may look similar but are not functionally identical. Even optical cables require testing for suitability.
To ensure compatibility and preserve the instrument’s core functions, all components must be obtained through Health Angel Services.
Spare parts ordered through Health Angel Services are usually delivered within a few business days in the EU. For orders outside the EU, shipping may take longer because of customs clearance.
Owners are responsible for sending their biophoton instrument to Germany when repair is needed, including packaging and insurance. Health Angel Services coordinates the repair process but does not supply packaging or insurance services.
For customs purposes, the instruments are shipped under the category “electronic instrument with its own function” (HS Code 8543.70.90). This ensures they are not misclassified as medical devices and avoids delays at customs.
If customs contacts you, explain that your instrument is a wellness device, not a medical device. It works solely with biophotons (ultraweak light emissions from living systems) — a non-medical process that regulatory authorities do not regard as medically relevant.
No. All newly produced biophoton instruments are sold within Germany by the official distributor, BoChi Instruments GmbH. They are supplied on an Ex Works (EXW) Germany basis, meaning the distributor makes the device available for collection in Germany only.
You must collect your instrument in person, or you can appoint a representative to do so on your behalf. Health Angel Services facilitates the administrative process up to the point of placing your Chiren®3.0 order with BoChi Instruments GmbH, but the actual purchase, pick up, and all transport arrangements are your responsibility.
Collection always takes place at the distributor’s office in Germany, located near Düsseldorf Airport.
Yes. A representative can collect and export the Chiren®3.0 on your behalf.
However, VAT reclaim will not be possible, as customs will only stamp export documents in the name of the person on the invoice. This means a refund cannot be obtained if someone else carries the instrument out of the EU.
Health Angel Services can guide you with practical steps and, if needed, help connect you with another practitioner within our network who may assist with collection — but this is only voluntary support, not a formal responsibility.
Transport, import procedures, customs clearance, and taxes are always the buyer’s responsibility.
The yearly contribution is part of your professional participation in the official Biontology® organisation. It supports the collective infrastructure that makes practice possible: coordinated services, access to spare parts, ongoing updates and newsletters, and professional representation of the field. Contributing is not just a fee — it is part of being a Biontology® practitioner and sharing responsibility for the future of the modality.
No. The yearly contribution is modest — comparable to the cost of a basic professional membership or online subscription. It exists purely to sustain the collective framework that keeps Biontology® practitioners connected and supported.
For practitioners with a running practice, it represents only a symbolic fraction of what professional work with the instrument makes possible. It ensures that everyone continues to benefit from coordinated service, continuity, and support across the professional network.
Your yearly contribution supports the collective infrastructure of the Biontology® professional field. This includes service coordination, access to spare parts, logistics for repairs, ongoing updates, and practitioner communication such as newsletters.
It is important to note that Health Angel Services does not provide training or coaching in the practice of Biontology®. Questions about working with clients or improving your skills should be directed to licensed coaches or to the official training institute, both of which operate under the authority of Dr. Boswinkel’s legacy foundation, Stichting MIBA (Medical and Industrial Biophoton Applications).
No. Yearly participation is part of the collective framework that keeps the field functioning. Allowing practitioners to opt in and out depending on when they need service would undermine this shared responsibility. Participation must be continuous to ensure fairness and sustainability.
Participation is always linked to the instrument. If a biophoton instrument is transferred, any unpaid fees remain attached to it and must be settled before support or services can continue under the new owner.
Yearly participation is a binding part of the license to practice Biontology®. If contributions are not paid, no services or spare parts are provided until all outstanding fees (plus surcharge) are settled.
This also applies if the instrument is transferred second-hand — unpaid fees remain linked to the instrument and must be resolved before support can continue.
Participation is optional. If you choose not to contribute, you remain under the grace arrangement: only minimal support is available for your one registered original instrument, at higher prices and with limited access to services.
However, once you decide to participate, the grace arrangement no longer applies. The reason is that participation sustains the collective structure that makes full services possible — it cannot be paused and resumed only when discounts or support are needed. From that point onward, contributions are a continuing commitment, and services will be suspended if they are not kept up to date.
The grace arrangement does not apply. As with post-2016 instruments, services and spare parts are only available once yearly contributions are up to date, including settlement of any outstanding fees and surcharge.
Each actively used biophoton instrument requires its own yearly participation. This ensures that every instrument in active use can receive the same level of professional support and care. An actively used instrument means you are working with clients on it — which expands your commercial practice and generates its own revenue.
With more instruments in the field come greater responsibility and support needs, which are shared collectively. For this reason, every such instrument must be individually covered under the professional framework.
Backup instruments can be serviced once for storage readiness, but if a backup becomes your main instrument, it must then be brought under yearly participation.
Our newsletter shares official updates for the Biontology® professional field — including service notices, development updates, and insights into Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel’s original work. It is published by Health Angel Services to maintain clarity, coherence, and connection across Biontology® associates and the registered practitioner network.
No. The newsletter is an internal communication for Biontology® associates and registered practitioners only. It may not be forwarded, quoted, or republished outside this network.
This confidentiality also applies to all other professional resources — including training materials, forum posts, course notes, and email exchanges — which are intended exclusively for licensed and contributing practitioners. These materials form part of the protected intellectual property of the field and must not be shared outside the practitioner community.

Yes. The Biontology® community forum is facilitated by the Institute for Applied Biophoton Sciences. Upon entering the professional field, Health Angel Services supports your enrolment so that you have access.
The starter package for Chiren®3.0 includes access to books and training materials. In addition, the new forum (from 2025 onward) serves as a continuously expanding reference database for practitioners.
Licensing is an integral part of entering the field or upgrading your instrument. Health Angel Services facilitates all licensing steps with Stichting MIBA, the legacy foundation of Dr. Boswinkel.
No. Certification is a separate, optional process. Licensed practitioners have completed the official foundational training and are entitled to practice within the framework of Biontology®. However, certification goes further — it involves observation and verification of practical skills after training.
Licensing confirms that foundational training has been completed. Developing competence and experience is each practitioner’s personal responsibility, while certification provides an additional layer of confirmed professional quality.
We do not provide referral services or match clients with practitioners directly.
However, for transparency, the official list of certified practitioners who hold active practices is publicly available on the official Biontology® website.
Only these practitioners have completed verified assessment and may be referred to by us in exceptional cases — for instance, when clients have concerns about prior experiences or are interested in becoming a practitioner themselves.
Certification allows you to demonstrate professional mastery and verified understanding within the Biontology® framework. It confirms that your work has been independently reviewed and that your application of the method is consistent with the original standards.
While it is not required for daily practice, certification strengthens your professional credibility and can deepen your confidence in working with complex cases. It also prepares you for more advanced roles — such as mentoring, coaching, or teaching — where both technical foundation and depth of insight must be solid enough to respond to questions and challenges that may never arise in your ordinary practice.
In essence, certification distinguishes practitioners who not only practice Biontology® but are also recognised for embodying its principles and quality at an advanced level.
If you are a licensed practitioner who wishes to become certified, Health Angel Services can assist you with enrolment in the certification program.
Once your registration is confirmed, all further steps — including practical assessment, theoretical evaluation, and case submissions — are organised and conducted by the Institute for Applied Biophoton Sciences.
No. Health Angel Services is non-commercial and does not deal in instruments, whether new or second-hand.
Occasionally we receive requests from buyers or sellers and may pass on a contact as a courtesy. This is not a formal service, and we cannot take responsibility for the outcome. Please be aware that older devices may fail without warning due to obsolete parts, making purchase entirely at the buyer’s own risk.
Before selling your biophoton instrument, notify Health Angel Services. Instruments cannot simply be handed over, as support for the new owner is only possible once the official transfer process is completed. The exact steps depend on the instrument type.
For post-2016 instruments including the Chiren®3.0, the new owner must:
• sign a new License Agreement,
• register the instrument under their name,
• complete official training, and
• join yearly professional participation.
After completing these steps, the instrument will be recognised and supported within the Biontology® framework.
For instruments from before 2016, the new owner must register the instrument and join yearly professional participation. If they were not originally trained through one of Dr. Boswinkel’s original companies, completing applicable training through a licensed coach is also necessary.
Only after the proper process is completed can the new owner receive full support within the Biontology® framework.
This can be a valid pathway into the field, often quicker than waiting for a new instrument — and we fully support such transfers when handled correctly.
Always contact us first to confirm the instrument’s status and clarify the required steps and costs, including any outstanding fees. Training is mandatory for every new owner and must be purchased separately. Sometimes sellers set prices as if their own past training or entry costs are included, but these do not transfer to you.
The instrument must be registered with us and the transfer completed before any payment is made. Otherwise, you risk ending up with an unserviceable device and unresolved costs. When handled properly, however, resale is a safe and supported way to enter the field.
If you purchased a Chiren®3.0 privately, it cannot be supported until it is registered with us, and the full transfer process is completed. This includes signing a new License Agreement, completing the mandatory training (with a new invoice issued to you), and settling any outstanding yearly fees linked to the instrument.
Until these steps are finalised, the instrument remains unserviceable and outside the professional framework.
• EU businesses (B2B, valid VAT number): Reverse-charge applies no VAT charged; you declare it in your return.
• EU private practitioners (B2C): VAT applies at your local rate.
• Non-EU practitioners: No EU VAT charged, but local import VAT/duties may apply if goods are shipped.
• EU private participants (B2C): Yes, local VAT applies to all online training.
• EU businesses (B2B, valid VAT number): No VAT charged; reverse charge applies.
• Outside the EU: No VAT applies.
Yes. In-person training in Dubai is subject to 5% UAE VAT.
For EU participants, this can be lower than the consumer VAT charged on online training in their own country, which sometimes makes Dubai a cost-effective choice in addition to the benefit of hands-on training.
• EU Private buyers pay 19% German VAT, as the sale takes place in Germany.
• EU business buyers (B2B, with valid VAT number) can purchase without VAT under intra-community supply rules, with proof of transport to their EU country.
• Non-EU buyers pay 19% German VAT at purchase but can reclaim it through a customs document stamped at the airport (see below).
Yes — if you are the person named on the invoice and personally export the instrument out of the EU.
Steps:
1. Request a signed customs document from BoChi Instruments GmbH.
2. Present it to customs when leaving the EU and have it stamped.
3. Send the original stamped document back to Health Angel Services (we collect on behalf of BoChi Instruments GmbH).
Because Biontology® is supported by independent organisations in di8erent countries:
• Training: Supplied from Dubai in-person under UAE VAT rules, or online, subject to the distance learning VAT rules of your country of residence.
• Instruments: Sold in Germany, subject to German VAT rules.
• Services and spare parts: Supplied through Health Angel Services in the Netherlands under EU VAT rules.
Reverse charge is an EU VAT rule that applies when businesses in different EU countries trade with each other. Instead of the supplier charging VAT, the buyer records the VAT in their own VAT return — both as input tax and output tax — so the net result is no VAT to pay if it is accounted for properly.
Any import duties or taxes are determined by your own country’s regulations. As these are specific to each country, you should check with your local customs office for details.
Possibly. Your local customs may apply import VAT or duties when the package arrives.
Rules differ per country, so contact your customs office if you need clarity.
No. The instrument itself does not store client or session data.
No. This is an optional tool that replaces paper records; it is not required to operate the instrument. Each practitioner decides whether to use it and remains responsible for how they record and manage client information.
All client information entered remains the responsibility and property of the practitioner.
Neither Health Angel Services nor the app provider uses the data for other purposes.
No. The app is only a tool for practitioners to manage their own records. Client data is not automatically shared with us or any other organisation.
If the app is used, information is stored securely in line with privacy regulations for software and cloud storage. Practitioners remain responsible for safe password use and for handling data correctly under GDPR.
FOR ASPIRING PRACTITIONERS
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION & ENROLMENT
This section is for those interested in joining the Biontology® field or understanding how it is organised — from licensing and training to acquiring a Chiren®3.0 and participating professionally.
Health Angel Services is the official professional organisation of the Biontology® field. It is the single point of contact for practitioners and clients entering the field, coordinating communication, logistics, service, spare parts, and practitioner support.
Practitioners, especially those who rely on Biontology® as their profession and main source of income, need a dependable point of contact that supports their work in practice. Our service foundation fulfils this role as a professional organisation “for the field, by the field”: coordinating service requests, spare parts, updates, and other logistical needs.
Personal contact has always been an important part of the field, and this non-profit model makes it possible to provide that support in a consistent and sustainable way — safeguarding practitioners’ needs today and protecting the future of the modality.
Biontology® is more than the use of a device — it combines Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel’s biophoton technology, a comprehensive training pathway to apply it effectively, and the safeguarding of his original inventions.
Each of these areas requires its own expertise, organisation, and responsibility. Keeping them separate ensures quality, professionalism, and long-term sustainability for the field.
The Biontology® field involves responsibilities that are very different from each other:
• Licensing & intellectual property — safeguarded by Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel’s original, independent foundation in the Netherlands.
• Professional services & support — provided through our official non-profit service foundation for Biontology® practitioners and their clients, also based in the Netherlands.
• Chiren®3.0 production & distribution — managed by the exclusive distributor of Dr. Boswinkel’s biophoton instruments in Germany.
• Biontology® Training — delivered by the dedicated training institute in Dubai.
The strong reputation and effectiveness of Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel’s inventions have always attracted attention. To protect the integrity of his modality and ensure it is represented consistently, licensing is entrusted to his original, independent foundation.
By keeping ownership of the inventions separate from training, distribution, and. commercial activities, and granting licenses for their use, the foundation safeguards the modality as a whole and maintains consistent standards.
Because Biontology® is not simply about operating an instrument. It is a complete modality with its own principles, assessment techniques, and standards of practice.
The official training, delivered from Dubai, ensures practitioners learn the fundamentals developed by Dr. Johan C. Boswinkel, acquire the required skills, and follow ethical practice.
This goes far beyond the kind of “device instruction” that a distributor might o8er in other industries. Only a dedicated training institute can provide such a professional development pathway with the depth needed to preserve the integrity of Dr. Boswinkel’s original method.
The Chiren®3.0 is a unique instrument with no equivalent in other industries. Its production, compliance, and development require specialised expertise and significant investment.
These responsibilities are very different from practitioner support, which is already highly demanding. That is why biophoton instrument sales are handled by the exclusive distributor in Germany, while Health Angel Services remains focused on practitioners and clients.
Keeping these roles separate also ensures resources for service and resources for the instruments are never mixed, protecting both essential elements of the Biontology® field.
The License Agreement to practice Biontology® is issued by Stichting MIBA (Medical and Industrial Biophoton Applications) in the Netherlands. All steps leading up to the agreement — from orientation to preparation of the documents — are facilitated by Health Angel Services. You only interact directly with MIBA foundation when the agreement itself is signed.
All training is provided by the Institute for Applied Biophoton Sciences, the official training institute in Dubai. Health Angel Services coordinates the steps leading up to it.
Today, Dr. Boswinkel’s instruments are supplied by the official distributor, BoChi Instruments GmbH in Germany.
For each purchase, Health Angel Services coordinates the required steps: organising or updating your License Agreement, arranging training, and guiding you through the process until the biophoton instrument is collected.
Production is done by the original engineering company, Dr. Schwab Gesellschaft für Technologieberatung mbH in Germany, that has worked in long-standing cooperation with Dr. Boswinkel over many years and continues today to build his biophoton instruments exclusively for BoChi Instruments GmbH, the current distributor.
The original engineering company that builds the biophoton instruments also performs the repairs. All requests, however, must go through Health Angel Services, since practitioners are not direct clients of this contract manufacturer which is not set up for end-user contact.
For the Chiren®3.0, warranty responsibility rests with BoChi Instruments GmbH, the exclusive German distributor. Practitioners do not contact the distributor directly; all warranty and non-warranty service requests must be routed through Health Angel Services, which manages the process on their behalf.
Earlier versions (e.g., Chiren®1.0/2.0, produced 2005–2015) were sold by companies that no longer exist. While the original contract manufacturer still builds new devices, end-user support was never their role.
To avoid leaving owners without help, Health Angel Services now provides repairs and spare parts for registered instruments as long as components can be sourced. Some parts are obsolete, so in those cases an instrument may be considered total loss — but wherever possible, we help extend its lifespan.
If you are exploring Biontology® with the idea of entering the field and working with the Chiren®3.0 yourself, or want to upgrade your older biophoton instrument, contact Health Angel Services directly. We can connect you with a certified representative who serves as an official point of introduction to the modality and the latest instrument.
Whether you are a practitioner or a client, all questions relating to Biontology® — from licensing, training, instruments, service, and spare parts to general information and support — should be directed to Health Angel Services. We handle all inquiries and coordinate between the relevant organisations, so you always have one clear point of contact.
Yes. New Biontology® practitioners can still enter the field, but access is carefully managed to protect quality and ensure proper support. Sustainable growth is maintained by accepting only a limited number of newcomers each year and by gradually phasing out older or defective instruments through the trade-in process, which helps keep the field strong for the future.
Anyone interested is welcome to contact us for an orientation call to explore whether Biontology® is the right path for them. Only a limited number of new practitioners are admitted each year, but while there may be a waiting list, acceptance is not determined by sequence alone. Qualities and commitment are also considered in the selection process.
We especially value applicants who show steadiness, an open yet discerning mindset, the ability to synthesise different perspectives into balanced understanding, and the willingness to explore health beyond both collective and personal assumptions.
What matters is not a long list of qualifications, but the capacity to dedicate oneself to a single practice with focus and consistency. Applicants with this depth and motivation have the potential to strengthen the field of Biontology® just as much as the practice can enrich their own lives.
If you are genuinely interested, you can use our contact form to leave your phone number. You will be contacted personally for an orientation call to explore whether this path is suitable and realistic for you.
While many enter the field to become professional practitioners, some choose to use Biontology® privately — for themselves, their family, or their close friends. This is possible, but the same requirements apply: orientation, licensing, and training are mandatory for proper application of the modality.
If you decide to enter the field after the orientation call, the process unfolds in the
following steps:
1. License Agreement — you first complete a form with your details, which allows us to prepare the License Agreement. The agreement is then issued by Stichting MIBA and finalised with your signature.
2. Training and instrument — once your license is in place, you will be enrolled in the official training program and start the process of obtaining your Chiren® 3.0. These steps go together: the training prepares you to use the modality responsibly, and the instrument is the essential tool required to practice it
3. Biontology® starter package — upon entry, you also receive your starter package, which connects you to Health Angel Services as the professional organisation of the field. This includes access to our services for the remainder of the year of entry as well as the official books, manual, and handouts.
Yes. Entering the Biontology® field requires commitment not only in time and training but also financially. The pathway includes professional training, purchase of the Chiren®3.0, and yearly participation. While we do not publish prices here, it is important to understand that this is not a small investment. It reflects both the depth of the practice and the responsibility that comes with joining a highly specialised field.
For EU residents, yes. If you buy for personal use within the EU (without a VAT number), VAT will be added to all your invoices (training, device, starter package). This makes the total price higher than for professional purchases where a valid EU VAT number allows reverse charging.
Yes. When handled correctly, taking over a registered instrument is a valid way to enter the Biontology® field and may provide faster access than waiting for a new instrument. But this is only true if all transfer requirements are met — otherwise, you risk paying for a device that cannot be supported.
No. The Chiren® 3.0 is an integral part of Biontology® practice and therefore inseparable from licensing, training, and yearly participation. Every new instrument enters the field through the same pathway: updating or signing the License Agreement, completing the official training, and covering yearly professional participation.
For existing practitioners, an additional instrument is added to their License Agreement, and the required training must still be purchased. Anyone working with that instrument must complete the training and be officially recognised as an additional user under the License Agreement. They are responsible for their own practice, while the main practitioner remains accountable for their inclusion.
